My female cat just turned 7 this year. Off and on last year she started pooping in the floor, this year it has progressed to almost every day. She doesn't urinate in the floor, only poops. I have tried putting her in the room her litter box is in over night (with food and water of course). I have tried putting her out in the garage as like a punishment (with her litterbox, a bed, food and water lol) I have tried oh so many different things, and she just won't STOP! It has gotten to the point that my parents are going to make me get rid of her , I love her a lot and I really don't want to get rid of her, plus I honestly don't think that anyone would want a cat that poops in the floor daily, does anyone know of a way to get her to stop??

Thanks in advance!!

  1. You should talk to your vet and make sure there's no medical reason.

Try putting lots of litter boxes around the house preferably where your cat is pooping. If he's pooping in an inconvenient place put it there anyways and move it a couple inches everyday to a better place. Eventually you'll see where your cat prefers the litter box and you can take away some of the ones that are used less.

    Good luck!

  2. This could be very bad. Their could be something wrong with her. When we first got our cat, myr, he had crystals in his pee(i know its gross) and it made it hurt to pee so he... leaked... everynow and then cause he didnt like peeing cause ya know, it hurt! So we had to get him a special food to keep the crystals away and make it easier to pee. You might need that but for poo intead of wee wee.

  3. Does she p**p in the same exact spot each time?  If so, the simplest solution is to move the cat box to that spot.  The only other thing I can think of is she does not want to go in the box because it's dirty.  Some kittys are very picky, and expect their owners to scoop the box constantly...lol

  4. Have you changed litter or food? Some cats are very sensitive to changes in their environment. If she is going in the same spots try using an odor eliminator like Odo ban.

  5. Have you taken the cat to the vet to see if there is a health reason for her actions.

  6. stick a cork in its rear!

  7. my cat did that too. but she was a lot younger.

when she poops on the floor, you need to pick it up ASAP with a papertowl, and take the p**p, AND the cat, she put them in the litter box. Make the cat sniff it, so that she knows where to go!
