How can I get my Shih Tzu interested in a different game?

Question

All he ever wants is for me to toss a ball so that he can chase it and bring it back. Now, it started out as a cute trick, but quickly grew into an obsession. I'm concerned. Not only does he show absolutely NO interest in any other toy or activity, he's driving me crazy with his insistence that my every waking moment be spent throwing the ball for him to chase.

Help!!

You could just pick the ball up, put it in a drawer, and only get it out for short periods of play.
