How can I get my budgie happy and get it to like me?

Question

I just got a budgie about 5 hours ago and it used to live in a large aviary with about 19 other birds to keep him company. Right now he's the only bird in the whole house, and since he's the only one his cage is smaller. Right now he's in his room, just standing there, quivering. I feel really bad! Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I could do to make him feel better? Should I leave him alone for a while? I need help! Thanks!

I would try cover him up so he can calm down a bit. This is a big change for a bird. Just feed him and keep the room quiet for a few days. Offer him some treats, pieces of fruit, lettuce, hard boiled egg yolk, cheerios (don't make a habit of that though it's just to help him for now). When he starts eating and making noises you can try talking back to him and start making friends.

I bet in a week you two will be getting along just fine. Good luck.

budgies dont like to be alone try to spend more time with him take to him stuff like that

take him out of his cage and play with him train him

tikil his stomach so he goes on your finger kepp doing this  

if your budgies wings a clip its easyer to train him after about 2 weeks or more he will go on your finger by him self

after you trained him to go on your finger than train him to go on your shoulder

put him on your shoulder every day

ones you do this the frist day walk arond for about 15 secand than the next day incres the time go form 15 to 25 than 35,45,55,1 min (ect)

i think after you trained your budgie you should get one more because they dont like to be by them self even if your there you should get one more after you trained him but real train if do just get one more like i did  

It takes time for a bird to get use to you

There's a couple of posts about bringing a new budgie home so you'll probably get some good information there.  He's bound to be finding the change stressful.
