  1. dont let them sleep in, wake them up early, dont let them take naps, dont feed them sugary foods or drinks with caffeine

put them to bed early, and make sure it is DARK with no lights or noise....

as a last resort, lol slip them some benadryl if you have to...

  2. Make it a routine. Have them eat dinner, have a shower/bath, read a story or read to themselves, brush teeth, then tuck in.

  3. What's with all the duplicate questions on the boards?  This was already asked.

  4. If your kids are little like 7 and under it should be 7 30 for older then 7 like 9 and 10 8 00 that should do. for you should be around 9 or 10 hope this helps!

  5. well what I've learned with my nephews and brothers is to find an activity to do during the day that will run a few hours [baseball soccer swimming] and then set home at around 5:00, eat dinner, then they should be pretty worn out and hopefully just crash

  6. Begin by establishing a good routine.  Develop a bedtime routine bath, pjs on, brush teeth, face, read a story or two and off to bed.  If they come out of their room, quietly walk them back in.  Don't fall for the Im thirsty bit that all kids try to pull.

start by waking them up when you would like for them to get up in the fall everyday.  Its hard to force your children to get up early in the summer when everyone wants to sleep in however if you begin this two weeks before the year begins they will be prepared for school and will not be sleeping or tired during morning circle.  Once they are up have them get dressed (pick out clothes the night before to avoid a morning battle) eat breakfast and begin an activity not just having them watch tv.  If you do this they will definitely be prepared for September. Good luck!

  7. You are so smart

everyone especially children need to get at least 8 or 9 hours of sleep

if you know to get up in time for school you have to get up at 6 am you need to start getting up at 6 am now way before school starts and be in bed by 9 or 10 o'clock.

I would find the time when all need to get up and then start cooking really great breakfast like bacon and pancakes and make sure the whole house smells great

and tell them that it is ready and if they are not at the table by 6:15 no breakfast then stick to your guns and toss it all out

this should only take a few days and soon they will be at the table on time.

oh and no food till lunch they need to get back on a school schedule and at school they have to eat lunch at the same time every day.

also, would not hurt to get them reading and doing some math and stuff to remember what they have forgotten over the summer.

    good luck

  8. If you are the parent, then be the parent and put your foot down.

Sorry if I sound harsh, not intended but I always see parents try to coax or bribe their children to do things that they really SHOULD be doing in the first place.

We have 3 kids (14, 10 & 6)... Never spanked them, but they know it's not out of the realm of possibilty. To be honest, I naver had to.

Lay down the rules and if they refuse, take away TV or video games for a day... If they keep refusing, add up the days.

Most importantly, whatever you decide, stick with it. Do not change your mind half way through because it would make YOUR life easier. It's not about making your life easy, it's about teaching kids boundaries and responsibilities.

If you take their TV away for a week, make it a week, not 2 days and then give in. If you do that, then your rules will NEVER carry any weight.

  9. make a rountine. dinner,tv, shower, quiet activitiy, brush teeth, wash face, go to bed.

  10. wake them up real early one day a few days before school starts....don't let them go back to sleep all day until at night then they will fall asleep early , and wake up earlier keep doin it for a few days to get them back into a routine.

  11. alright during the school years my bedtime is ten o clock and i get up 7:15 so most of us kids get about 9-7 hours of sleep because i fall out around twelve in the school year

  12. gradually.

have them go to bed 15 minutes earlier, and wake up 15 minutes earlier each day.

    good luck!

  13. DO NOT EVEN TRY!!, my mom tries that bs excuse to go to bed early and it makes no sense, make them go to bed early only 2 days before school starts, a good bedtime for summer is 5am and get up at 1pm

  14. heres what you do. you do a reward system at first depending on there age. start them going to sleep a day or 2 before school starts. and lets say your child has been asking for something for the past week then tell them if they go to sleep and wake up for school for the first week you'll get it for them.

    Hope i helped :]
