I am in the process of growig my hair and want to know how I can boost or help the growth - are there any really good products (shampoo/conditioner/creams etc) or tips like obvioulsy not styling everyday or trying to only wash it once a week etc - I have heard lots of things but would like some opinions from people that seem to have done specific things that has helped their hair grow! (I want to grow it naturally eg no extensions!)

Many thanks

  1. I heard years and years ago that rubbing the area with vaseline will accelerate hair growth. Never tried it but you could.  Let me know if it worked

  2. I think somebody told me make a mask mixing olive oil with eggs and put it in you hair for minimum an hour.

  3. eat foods such as eggs, milk, fish, and peanuts...  also, biotin supplements may be helpful because foods with a rich source of biotin help your hair grow more quickly......shampoos and conditioners will have no effect on your rate of hair growth.  However, increasing your circulation by exercising may also help to cause your hair to grow faster.  There are no products that make your hair grow (and if there are any that claim to do so, they're really just a rip-off).  But you should try to keep the condition of your hair fairly healthy so that it does not look ratty.  Things such as shine serums, stay-in conditioners, and heat protection (if you use heat stylers) should help your hair stay fairly healthy.

  4. This will make your hair grow.

Mix equal amounts of olive oil and castor oil, mix, and massage on hair and scalp. do this at least twice a week.

  5. By all means follow the advice you've already been given.  When I was trying to grow my hair I sort of forgot about it, kept it tied up, checked the length once in a while, had it cut once in a while, and then I had long hair.  Persevere!  I remember occasionally checking the length in a two mirror situation, and I was usually disappointed till one day...aha...I had long hair!

I did go through a phase of taking chlorella ( or, something related, spirulina) as a general help for hair, skin and eternal youth (!) - can't remember whether it helped.

  6. Take prenatal!

I had a horrible chemically relaxing disaster and my hair was just crazy. I took prenatal and it seemed to grow out a lot faster. Also I used Nioxin (hair care stuff, it's really good!)

I also dont use shampoo usually but I have SUPER curly hair so it never gets greasy

    Hope i helped

  7. I use Aussie shampoo and then condition it really well by leaving the conditioner on for 3min before i rinse it off. You should also eat a healthy diet and get your hair trimmed regularly but make sure you ask your hairdresser to "keep as much of the length as possible".  Good luck xx
