  1. i found that if you dead head them after flowering (just the head of the flower) and next spring after the frost has gone take the head stems down to the second leaf joint you should get flowers next summer it worked for me anyway good luck

  2. I've got two different types of hydrangeas which I have had for a few years. I noticed the first year after buying my hydrangeas they didn't flower but the year after I had a few flowers on them. So hopefully you will have a few flowers next year.

It is best not to prune them at all until late March, early April as this will protect them from the frost. Good luck.

  3. Did you prune it after flowering last year? Find out how to prune it properly ( if at all) because there is an art to it concerning hydrangeas.

I disregarded this info last year and this year...same as you. The saddest Hydrangea ever :-(

However the lace-cap one I bought this year flowered like mad indicating I'm a bad Hydrangea mummy.

  4. This is not uncommon for Hydrangeas - they can flower freely one year and the following year - perhaps one or two flowers.

I have many of these in all colours - deep pink, light pink, blue and white - every one of them flowers differently each year.

You are not doing anything wrong, but I suggest that you feed the Hydrangea with a good water based feeding solution specifically for Hydrangea's - this can be bought from most good DIY stores or garden centres.
