I done the stupid thing of letting my little boy into my bed when he was very ill a few months back. Since I have not been able to get out of our bed - which is becoming a nightmare as he isn't a small child and takes up a whole lot of room...

I have brought him a new bed and tried reading him books before bed, - which is great until around 11 when he decides to climb back in with us, I have done the whole putting him back, but he just sobs and a hour later is back in with me!!!

Please Help!!!!

  1. I just broke my son of that. Start letting him take something he really likes to bed even if its in bed with you, then after so long when he is used to sleeping with that special thing tell him he has a choice if he wants to keep it he has to keep it in his bed. My son was his bottle i told him he can not have his bottle in my bed so if he wanted it he has to sleep in his own room. Re assure him that your only across the hall. Good luck

  2. waht i did was brought the toddler mattress into my room put it next to my bed and let him fall asleep on it. then every night or so move it farther from you. after a few weeks put him in his room. but no matter what dont let him in your bed. there is a book I bought called "No cry sleep solutions" it covers every type of sleep problem youc an thank of. I cant let my kids cry it out so i bought that and trust me it worked. we co-slept for 2.5 years and fixed the problem in 2 weeks tear free!

  3. Put him in his bed. Go to your room. Lock the door. Ignore his cries.

You have to stop this now or it will get worse.

  4. good luck i really have no idea===i'm only 14 lol sorry===but ont he plus side---2 points for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

  5. ween him off of it by sleeping in his room for a while every day then every couple of days then stop or tell him why you don't want him in your bed if he is that big he will understand.

  6. well you should buy one of those race car beds and give him cute little sheets and pillow cases and blankets that have something ng likes on it like batman or something.try rewording him when he sleeps in his own bed like tell him that if he sleeps in his bed you would do something fun the next day. and when he sleeps in you bed have him sit in his room for a  certain period of time that way he'll be uses being around his bed.do something fun on his bed that way he sees the bed as something good so he will want to sleep in it. and if those ideas don't work try sleeping in his bed with him or sleep in his room till he is use to sleeping in his room on  his bed also try putting a lock on your door or one of thous child safety things. GOOD LUCK! hope i helped =]

  7. an hour later, just put him back in the crib.

  8. Have you tried letting him fall asleep with you and them moving him to his own bed. That's what I did with my son. Once he gets used to sleeping in the bed, you can try having him fall asleep in it by laying with him in his bed until he falls asleep. He probably needs the comfort of being close to someone to sleep. The trick is to get him to fall asleep in his bed, which migh be easier if you're in the same room for a while or if you put a soft noise soundtrack in his bedroom. Sometimes the thing that keeps kids asleep is a sound they hear every night, like breathing or an air conditioner. I have a humidifier in my son's room that has to be on or he won't stay asleep.

He'll grow out of it eventually. Hopefully.

    Good Luck!

  9. Put back in crib and let him cry be a mom or you will always be a easy pushover, Mom up.Theres only one adult you be the adult.

  10. Does he have a night light?  My DIL got a night light that looks like fish swimming around a tank.  My grandson watches it and falls asleep easily.  Also, the first person to answer is right.  When he comes into your room, take him back to his.  If you have to do it 50 times a night, so be it.

  11. my parents just locked their door so when i tried to come in i couldn't...then i just went back in my bed. plus one night they let one of my older brothers sleep with them and not me which of course made me cry but....

they told me it was because he didn't come in EVERY night.

then i pretty much got over it  :o)
