My mum sat her GCSEs in 1978/1979 but never went back to pick up her results. Is there any way possible i'd be able to get these for her?

If so what would I have to do?

Would they even still be on record?

  1. in 1979 your mother would have sat O levels... you should contact the school, within the archives they should have her details - there isn't a national database. Should the school have dispossed of their records you will have to dig a tad deeper, find out the subjects taken, and the exam boards the school used.

It will be quite a research project but it will be interesting.

You may just as a cautionary note, might not want to push this issue, she may not have attended her exams, or been particulalry academic at that time hence her not gonig to get the results.

So don't force the issue. And also remember not everyone actually was put forward to sit their o'levels, times have significantly changed...

your local library will be able to offer advice.

    good luck!

  2. they may - they had mine from 96.

ring the school results are free to obtain - if they dont have the records, they will give you the number for the education authority responsible at the time. ring them - but you may have to pay them.
