Assuming that you already have a up and running website, check your SEO metatags to ensure that they will elevate your PR (Page Rank) on Google.com.  Again, Google like Yahoo are the Internet Yellow Pages where your website will be found whenever anyone is submitting generic queries, such as the type of art/painting and where your business is located, i.e., city, state, country.

Like any other businesses, word of mouth is the best source to get traffic to your business website. There are other options as well. You can join an affiliates program that's in your field. SEO - search engine optimization is another great idea. If you know anything about that then you should try to use keywords in your meta tags. If you're clueless, then you should get ahold of someone or a company that specializes in SEO. I have to forewarn you that SEO is pretty pricey depending on the depth you want to go.
