How can I get my parents to let me take tennis lessons four times a week? (Tue/Thur/Sat/Sun). My dad says it would be too much driving (there are three people available to drive me to and from tennis). They say it would be too much, I just started tennis at the start of summer and have really improved. There are two people from my school who do tennis at the same place, but I am a "level" below them. If I did tennis four times a week I would improve faster and be able to actually do tennis with my friends, AND arrange a carpool to tennis from school. I want to move up a level to be with my friends and just for general improvement. I really love tennis and want to do as much as I can. How can I get my parents to let me?

  1. tennis is stupid! do lacrosse

  2. If those three people have a really tight schedule and can't drive you, get a mate to. Or get a job and just hire a taxi, it's gonna cost a lot but if you really love tennis THAT much, it's worth it, right?

  3. Maybe it's a money issue with your parents.  4 times a week sounds like a lot to me unless your competing.

  4. If you become really good you could get a scholarship to college and now that some college are like $40,000 a year that would be ALOT of money saved.

Plus athletics are sooooo healthy for you.

    GOOD FOR YOU

  5. I think maybe Tennis lessons could be a lot of money as well. Maybe they are making excuses because they can not afford it, but wouldn't want you to know that. Respect them and just take it once or twice a week.

  6. How many times have you been going a week? If it's only one or two then see if you can go a little bit longer or instead of going four times a week see if you can only go a day longer than what you are now, then you could talk your parents into letting you go four after you work up to about three.

Sorry if this wasn't very helpful,I tried my best though!

  7. Tell them you really love tennis, and want to know your friends a little bit better

  8. i would tell them all this and then...tell them they would not have 2 drive as much when u move up a level...

  9. just say ...look, you guys are gonna be old soon. Who's going to take care of you when your old and feeble?

Mom, Dad, the answer is ME!!!! when i become a huge tennis star!!!

  10. The first thing I thought of wasn't driving, but how much is it? Tennis lessons might be a lot, depending where you get it from. Maybe your dad doesn't want you to know the money's a bit tighter than it used to be. If this is the reason, you may be out of luck unless you can pay for it.

If this truly isn't the reason, and you have everything planned out, wait until whomever normally is more inclined to say yes. Wait until they're alone and in a great mood. Tell them everything, that you have the driving situation planned out, that it'd let you do exercise, etc. Even add in there you promise you'll focus on school, since it's during the school week.

    Good luck. :)

  11. keep asking but be nice. ask for tennis lessions for your b-day or x-mas

  12. All I can think of is bribe them... Offer them something in return.  Or maybe even offer to practice with them as a way of spending time and keeping healthy.  I dunno parents can be pretty stubborn once they've made up their mind...

  13. Ask them once more.

  14. why don't you tell your parents what u wrote ! sorry i was not much help !!! :]

  15. Your parents should be glad that you have this interest instead of being boy crazy or getting into trouble. See if the parents of the other kids will call your parents to make arramgements to take you.

  16. Say youll give them gas money
