In high school I was always painting, drawing, dressing all crazy, doing graphic design, taking pictures, being crafty...now it's like everything stopped ever since I started college last fall...life is so depressing! What are some ways for a former artist to get back in touch with his creative side?

  1. Unfortunately life can zap the creativity out even the best artist, but the way I spark my creative juices is by setting aside time for myself. Where I can clear my mind and just be. I find I am more creative after I shed myself of all life stress. Others things that help is by creating a design inspiration book or go to various places alone that provide you inspiration like botanical gardens, museums, etc… I also like playing games with fellow artist where we brainstorm whacky ideas and then recreate them.

  2. Get laid.

  3. royman's actually got it right, though a little crude....your love life directly effects your creativity after like 17...there are no two ways about it.

  4. This is a great question.  Some tactics that I have used are: visit some art galleries to see what others are doing; take time for myself to have leisure and 'do nothing' time; visit an art supplies place and pick up some new or different mediums from the ones that I have used; and last but not least visit some antique places which have some old pieces of art.

  5. You need to get in or around those classes/activities again.  If that doesn't work, take a walk in the woods, get into nature alone, you'll find something to spark your inner artist.

  6. Listen to some good music and open up to different kinds music, like explore different things to get inspired again.
