I want to try out for XC next year but I have a LONG way to go. Right now I can only run four minutes without stopping, so how long should I run every day to get me to where I need to be?

  1. Quit smokin crack. Kidding.

Anyway... run a half mile the first week. Everyday. Then the second week step up to a mile every other day. Third week... a mile and a half every other day. Fourth week.. two miles every other day.

This will work for you. Seriously. I ran in school too.

  2. start jogging then ur body will get used to it

then ur go higher in levels of running

    then higher and so on

go on a track and ull see the ressults time after time

  3. i run xc and im not sure its for u. it sounds like u  would be a good 800m runner. but if u really want to run xc start by running a half mile every day for a weel plus doing a gym workout. the next week up it to a mile and hit the gym. keep uping it by a half mile each week until u can run 5 miles (yes i know high school xc is 3.1 miles) once u can do tht start doing the kind of workouts ure schools cross country team does.

  4. Run 4 or 5 times a week. Continue to build on your 4 minutes. Each day do a little more or the same as the previous time. When you build up to 30 minutes it is easy to move to a greater distance and time.

    Practice, Practice, Practice. Good luck
