  1. Buy  her books about things she is interested in.

Example: If she likes Dora the Explorer,  buy her Dora books. This will spark  her interest and possibly motivate her to advance her reading skills.

Just don't push her too hard! She is only 6, some kids don't learn to read until 9 or 10.

    Good luck. =)

  2. Children love fun, let it show in your attitude that reading is fun. whenever you read and she comes to your place gesticulate to her the fun and your  friendship with book. Always emphasize 'my book is my friend' whenever she comes watching you while reading and each time she pick up her book, hearthily encourage her. she'll sure develop interest in reading. Best luck to her

  3. try finding some books in subjects that she likes, like when i was younger, my parents got me some books related to baseball and football, because thats what i loved

  4. My son is almost 6.  We pick a book.  I read one page, he reads the next, and so on.  Or I read one line, he reads the next.    He also earns tv and video game time by reading.  He get 30 minutes of tv for ever "hard" book he reads.

  5. find something she likes and find books on that subject

  6. Read to her, find books on all sorts of subjects to show her that reading is a portal into another world. The more you read to her the more her interest should grow.

  7. take her to the book store and tell her to pick out a few new books out of a certain section ( the more adv. one) then she'll be into them and want to read them and you'll be happy because they are more adv.

  8. Library, Library, Library!  It's fun and will get your daughter exploring more difficult material.

I've also heard that you should be a role model for reading.  I have always read books, in front of my son, and asked him to sit and read while Mommy reads.  When I finally finish a long book, I make a big "to do" about finishing it and how awesome the story was!  This makes my son want to dive into a thick book and read one himself.

    Good Luck!
