My son is 22 months old. He is very fussy in eating, and never drink any milk when he is awake during the dạy, he will throw up when he smells it, I tried to flavoured to it but useless. I can only get him to have it at night when is asleep, and it have been really tough for me to get up every night to prepare him the bottle. Do you have the same problem? I need advice. Thank many!

  2. Sounds like he might be lactose intolerant! Talk to your doctor.

  3. Get him to eat Calcium rich foods, if he likes vegetables the way my kids do then give him steamed Broccoli with a little Butter,Calcium Fortified O.J....here is a site..hopefully this will help...I think he is probably Lactose Intolerant as well

  4. My kids hated milk and wouldn't drink it. Pediatrician told me to give them orange juice instead. Said that it contains the same stuff as milk but is better than milk.

  5. 22 months is way too old for a bottle. The kid is two years old for goodness sakes! That's probably why he doesn't want it! Give him a sippy cup with OJ in it. It has calcium in it as well.

  6. Instead of milk why not give him yoghurt, smoothie with favourite  fruit or even cheese sticks as he only needs 2-3 servings of dairy p/d. However try to replace with fortified fruit juice.

  7. i don't know if this is relevant, but when i was younger i was really fussy about milk too. when i was old enough to decide whether i was going to drink milk or not, i stopped.i also never ate cheese and  HATED pizza. my parents couldn't figure it out. later on in life i found out im lactose intolerant. again, not sure if this is why or how you could find out. just throwing it out there.

  8. Try making it taste nicer, like  a milkshake maybe? Or if not try a different type of milk. He could have it in cereal etc...disguise it so that it does not appear as milk. He does not literally have to drink it now at that age..so do not worry too much! As long as he is gettting it somehow thats the main thing!

P.s I doubt he is lactose intolerant...he is not sick because of the milk it sounds more like a strong dislike...as you said he did not like the smell.

  9. He probably doesn't like milk. Humans don't exactly NEED milk. It's high in fat content and the pasteurizing process destroys most nutrients. It's best for baby cow's. Most moms in this situation use Soy Milk, or you can also get good, natural sources of calcium from these foods:

*calcium-enriched orange juice, rice beverages, and soy beverages.

*Beans (white beans, navy beans, Pinto Beans, Chick Peas

*Oats, instant, regular, no sugar added

    *Salmon, canned with bones

    *Turnip greens  \

    *Chinese cabbage/bok choy

    *Okra

    *Mustard greens

    *Kale 1

    *Chinese broccoli (gai lan)

    *Rutabaga

    *Broccoli

    *Orange

    *Brown sugar

  10. Most kids love sugar.

    Anything sweet.

So sweeten the Milk up abit.

It might not be as healthy, but it  sure will do the job!!
