How can I get my three year old sister to wear pants?

My sister refuses to wear pants no matter wear we're going. She always wants to wear a dress or skirt. It could be in the negatives outside and she will still wear a billowy dress. I'm unable to take her places like Chuckie cheese and the park because when she runs and climbs her panties show and other kids make fun of her.

She hates wearing tights or leggings/leg warmers.

You could try taking her with you to pick out them herself. Will she wear shorts under her skirts? Can you give her two choices and if she doesn't pick one of them don't take her where she wants to go. She is only three is she potty trained if she is it might be easier for her to go potty with a dress on. Try pants with elastic waist so it is easy for her to take on & off. Good luck

As she gets older she'll figure out what she is missing. It is simply not worth fighting over. If you want her to play outside get her a pair of snowpants. If she won't wear them she doesn't go out if it is cold.

Tell her that pants are skirts and that skirts are pants. So when she wears a skirt, tell her, "Hey thanks for wearing pants for me" She will get soo annoyed after a while that you are calling the skirt pants, that she will wear pants and tease you about how she is wearing a skirt.

I know you might not like this but i had the same problem with my sister, wear clothers that match her, tell her that you look like twins and stuff like that. She most likely wants to be just like you so start out by wearing skirts just like her then switch to pants and she wont mind, hopefully-haha. Good luck.

my daughter always wanted to wear dresses and cowboy boots at that age.  Get her some cheerleading panties to wear under her dresses or shorts and then noone will see anything.  Maybe she doesn't like the texture or sensory sensation of something touching her legs.  Or maybe she just likes wearing dresses. I wouldnt' worry about it- pick your battles and this certainly isn't one of them!!

First let her start wearing stretchy pants and if she tries to take them off wear the same or similar pants and she'll grow to love them!
