How can I get my town to start a recycling program?

I am trying to find a way i can get a recycling program started in my town. Any ideas?

Go to city hall and ask about the city council meetings.Go and approach the members with your idea.There is money in different budgets to get grants for Green living.Try it or contact your Governor.Hope this helps

throw recyclables in every ones yard so they have no other choice but to recycle

set up a plan of action...meaning have all the "how, how much,when, where, who" of your program figure out and officially written down. then find more info at your local city hall and get an appointment to see your local councilman and get their approval first.

when you get the approved by the city, start by recruiting people you know that would help you instigate the program.

you can also make a flyer's with info regarding the program, the good it does for the community and the earth, your contact info in case they have questions or willing to help and pass them around town. leave them at car windshields, at local beauty stores, doctor offices etc...

then visit local churches, schools, grocery stores and ask for their cooperation.
