I have successfully located the 3 sons of Paul and Elizabeth Merritt of Corona, Queens but am looking for the 2 sisters. Their names at birth were Mary and Theresa. Mary was born in 1925 and Theresa in late 1929 or early 1930. I have the 1930 census listing 4 of the 5 children went to the OAS of Brooklyn in April of 1930. It is my understanding that their father Paul, a lithographer, died in 1929. The eldest child, James, ended up in Orange County California. Charles, my father, settled in South Carolina and Robert, who passed away July of 2007 was upstate NY. My sisters and I are interested in locating any remaining relatives.

  1. You really have more to work with than others.  I would request death certs from the various states for the men. Robert's "informant" may be someone who knows his family. You could take the chance that the girls were married, and request that information from their birth state. These searches DO cost, but if you're serious the information might be worth it.
