There is a $420 cancellation fee I didn't know about. No one said anything when I called to cancel or when I signed up. I cancelled because I couldn't afford $60 a month, how can I get out of this??

  1. Tust me, someone told you either in writing or verbally.  we're supposed to pay attention when signing contracts like this one.  If you couldn't afford $60/mo, why did you sign up in the first place?  Your only option is to cancel the bank account from which they would take their $420, and be prepared to be hounded until you wish you hadn't ever met them.  They will also turn it over to collections, effectively messing up your credit for a good, long time.  If you're planning on getting credit in future, you may want to rethink this approach.

  2. I doubt that you can. It is in your contract (the installers left you a copy of it). And you agreed to it when you signed up. Sorry.
