How can I get out of the group arkansas_massagetheropy?

I keep receiving emails from people telling me to stop sending them emails about the group and I am not sending them. Matter of fact I am getting them too and some of them from myself. I sent one asking to remove my name and I got the email as if someone had sent it to me.

it's a Yahoo group: Go to the group's site, click on edit membership along the top. In the next window scroll down and tick leave group Click save changes and you should be out. It may take a day to take effect

It sounds like someone started the group back in November of last year and then dumped it on you much later by making you either the owner, co-owner or a moderator without your knowledge.  Only owners/moderators receive personal emails from members complaining about email from the group. Those would have been sent using the "Contact list owner" at bottom of group page and on all group emails.

You can see if you have been made an owner or a moderator and get out of the group entirely.  Sign in to the group, click on Members located on left side of group page.  Click on the "Moderators tab" near the top.  If your name appears there, that's what happened. You will see either a gold or blue crown by your name.  The gold one is the moderator, the blue one is the owner.

If you are now the only owner, you can either delete the group in it's entirety http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

or make someone else the owner with that person's approval:

If you are a moderator and the group owner has given you the privilege to demote yourself to member status, you can change yourself to member, then leave the group.
