At Six Flags New England, there's a ride called Superman: Ride of Steel. I know this is in many other locations. So I just need help conquering this ride. Is there any way that somebody could help me? I like every other ride at Six Flags New England except for Superman. I just really want to go on it with my friends, but the restraints scare me so bad. Please help!

  1. Ok, before you get in line take a deep breath and tell your self everything is going to be ok. Fear is all mental and you will have fun on that ride but your just making it seem scary for yourself. I know its hard, but you just have to do it, it will be worth it in the end, even if you dont like the ride, you stood up against your fear.

oh also if you want to see what the ride is like beforehand look up "Superman: Ride of Steel Ridealong" on youtube

  2. Just have your friends drag you on it. It will be tough but once you get going it will all be worth it and you'll want to ride it over and over again. :)

  3. Trisha said it all. The only way you will get over your fears is to get on them and GO!! I was scared to go on my first roller coaster [Iron Dragon at Cedar Point] But I got on and I loved it, went on like 5 times after that. Just close your eyes and completely relax and think about having the time of your gosh darn life with your friends. Those things are checked like crazy to insure your safety so you'll be fine. Roller coasters are also tested [well they were at the amusement park I went to] Just hold on to your harness if your scared and when you feel comfortable start lifting your hands [if your allowed] The lift [where you start slow] is the time to calm your nerves. Just breathe and think about other things and watch how much fun you have. You'll be surprised at how fun some fears can be :))

  4. umm, this is just what i do but, try to think of how safe it is and how many people calculated the perfect momentums ( yeah that was probably spelt wrong but oh well) and speeds to make this ride as fun and safe as possible so just grin and bear it! Out of every time anyone ive known has tried it they loved the ride...

  5. ride them its the only way to overcome your fears.

  6. You can see a counselor to learn some self hypnotherapy techniques that can really help.

If you don't enjoy the ride and are not comfortable with it then don't feel pressured to ride just because your friends do. Its not worth an anxiety attack over. They'll have fun and you'll be happy at the gate watching. Peer pressure sucks but be firm and tell them to "drop it" if they try to force you to go.

I love theme park rides but there are a couple I just won't go on no matter what anyone says. Perhaps your fear is an intuition that the ride isn't safe for "you" to go on.
