Question:

How can I get over my hate of cheese?

I have had this issue since about the age of 6. Prior to that I absolutely loved the stuff, my mother tells me that I used to have no problem what so ever with eating it. However now it's causing major problems, everywhere I go they stick cheese on my food (even if I ask for no cheese) and I either have to get it replaced or go hungry.

My thoughts of my problem are the thoughts of what it is, as to me it's basically out of date milk. Still the smell and taste seem to put me off but I don't know if it's actually to do with that or it's just my mind telling me to dislike it. I've seen countless programmes where the person in question only dislikes the food because of what their mind tells them not their palette.

Does anyone know a good way of getting around something like this, today alone I've had two burgers with cheese on but when I'm half way through them I suddenly feel very sick.

  1. haha its the exact same situation with my boyfriend. he has this phobia or cheese he wont eat ithe flat out refuses. he says its psychological its funny... i made him try cheesecake and he said it wasnt bad....maybe try that...try a bite...then maybe another time have two...till you are eating a slice, then try a piece of grated cheese....etc... im going to make my bf do it too haha :)

  2. You don't have to get over your hate of cheese. Eat vegan cheese (available at all grocery stores nowadays) that's made from soy. It's healthier and can taste exactly like the real thing...but without that gross old milk feeling.

If you really want to eat real cheese, go to a cheese making tour/workshop. This will show you exactly how it's made and the extreme level of control necessary to produce good cheese. I really enjoy learning where things come from (like the "How It's Made" tv show), and cheese is actually one of the foods that doesn't disgust me after learning about its orgins.

Let a cup of milk sit outside in the sun for a few days. You'll soon discover what is truly "out of date milk" and that it's really really gross and totally different from cheese.

If you have issues with cheese, you must have issues with meat too? Vegetarianism is really not complicated, and there are vegan versions of everything (eggs, lobster, burgers, yogurt, etc) these days.

    Good luck!!

  3. I used to be the same way with MELTED cheese, like on pizza. Its simple, just pick the cheese off. trust me, if i could do it with pizza, im pretty sure you could do it with everything else.

  4. I have the damned problem

    with cheese and eggs(the yolk)

    oh my jeesussss

i dont know what you can do man

    just DONT EAT IT

    its just one food

maybe you'll get rid of it with age

or maybe you had to much when you were younger so now your body like automatically hates it

GOOD LUCK DUDE, I FEEL YA

  5. I know what you mean! See i tend to feel "not so great" when eating a little to much of cheese! But, you can eat cheese still, its just liston to how your body reacts to the amounts your eating. But on cheese to not kill me no matter how much is the powder cheese found in cheese puffs. I suggest this would be a good starter for the cheese deal. OH!

NEVER eat blue cheese...or for the fact smell it becuase its the worst! I know...so if you got more questions i'll answer them!

  6. if you don't like something , don't try to like it.

i would never try to like liver !!

maybe you can try some different cheeses that you have never tried or just quit trying to like it, everyone has certain things that they don't like the taste of. don't feel bad about it.

  7. go to a cheese tasting and start with a mild cheese or goats milk cheese
