How can I get over my phobia of spiders?

Question

Yesterday, I went in the basement to do my wash and there was this long legged spider so I tried to swat it but I missed and she went behind some boxes. Anyways, now I don't know where she is and I'm afraid to go back in the basement. Just the thought of it crawling on me would make me have a panic attack! I've always been afraid of any kind of spiders. Is there a way to overcome this fear? This is what she looked like.

Don't worry, spiders have such small brains that they can't bear any grudges. I'm sure all is forgiven and there isn't an organized spider posse in the works to come look for you and take you out.

Just realize that her prey actually do you much more harm (plenty of ways, biting, stinking, stinging, spreading germs, colonizing, etc)

than she ever possibly could and that, in a sense, she is protecting you and your home to the best of her natural ability.

I totally understand how you're feeling, I also have a terrible phobia of spiders. I'm yet to overcome mine, but im trying and trying.

If I can give you one piece of advice, it's never to buy one of these online books or treatments that claim to get rid of a phobia. I payed 60 dollars for an online program that GUARANTEED that after 1 hour I would be rid of my phobia. And of course it didnt work.

well if it makes you feel better daddy long legs are not technicaly spiders. and they are poisonous bt dont worry they cannot bite you because their mouths are to tiny. so you realy have nothing to worry about!
