Question:

How can I get paint residue out of my hair?

I've been painting the house for the last few days, and had some unfortunate drips. Even after washing it several times, there are still drops of paint in my hair ... and they look like grey streaks.

What will get them out?

  1. I'm guessing you used oil based paint? Well, if you did a little bit of mineral spirits will do the trick. Just take a rag, and poor a little on it. Then rub it on the spot on your hair. After the paint is gone, make sure and wash the mineral spirits out of your hair. It will dry it out and isn't exactly good for your skin either. But, no harm can be done.

  2. That's happened to me, too.  If the paint refuses to budge after washing and brushing, you may have to peel it out with your fingernails.  Yes, it's tedious but may be the only way.  You could also try diluted white vinegar, but I would be reluctant to try anything more harsh.

  3. Try nail polish remover..........and quickly rinse with water.
