How can I get people to care about the environment?

I want to do something so that my friends and other people care about the environment. Probably to do something that has to do with art.

I hope that by art you mean to recycle something or grow something, because most of the art projects I see are a huge drain on resources.  The best way to help the environment is to be a living example.

Here are a few pretty cool ideas for environmentally friendly projects:

Grow a garden instead of a lawn. Have nice little signs explaining how much home food gardens better the environment.

Get involved at school and figure out how to replace marginal areas with fruit trees that can supplement school lunch programs.

Plant salad buckets and sell them or give them away with tags on care and the importance of growing food.

Collect non-recyclable plastics and use it to stuff useful fabric shapes(instead of styrofoam or plastic beans)  as an example of how to keep plastic out of landfills. Use fabric that is recycled(from pet plastic bottles) or re-purposed( old blue jeans or sailcloth).

well I don't know about art but if you havea cell phone take a pic of art send a message then send it to all ur friends then they will send it to more people than so on and so on.Also you can do it by e-mail.GOOD LUCK!!(I would'nt make any thing scary)

Well, there's a number fo organizations that you can have an art show or festival for. Just do an online search and get in touch with someone by email. You can sell small things to promote them (bumpes stickers, etc.) and the proceeds will go to the organization. You could set up a petition booth somewhere also. Sell local art and donate a percentage to the organization, promote the show with this. Flyers are good, maybe an ad in your local paper. The possibilities are truly endless when you yourself have a large part in informing your community! People want to know what's happening in our world, yet so many still don't really know what's happening right now. There are many ways to inform them and art shows are great way to do it. Hopefully everything will go well enough that you can continue supporting the environment through your community:)

i know it sounds boring but its really the truth!

it should contain 3 top things....

1.global warming

2.recycling

3.polluting the air!

You cannot force issues on people to get them to listen to you, but you can use the art of persuasion in getting, peoples help. Rather than ask them to do something in particular, ask them for idea’s on types of projects, that you can manage, to bring about some consensus and unity on the group as a whole.

You have to have a budget, and people who are willing to put in the time to pull it off.  I would put something together with animation, and the use of graphic arts, in the from of a cartoon. Put it out on the Internet via your favorite sites to see if any company is interested in it. Green is good not only for the environment, but for making money as well.
