I am relocating to another city in a couple of weeks for a new job and I need an apartment. Well the apartment complex is going to need to see proof of income? How can I show them proof of income when I haven't started the job yet? I have been out of a job for a couple of months.

  1. You'll need to show proof of employment at your new job (your hr rep can provide this) and a bank statement showing your current balance.

  2. A copy of the written job offer from the new employer will probably do the trick.

Phone the apartment manager first to make sure they will accept it, or offer other suggestions if they will not.

  3. Show last years tax file.

  4. show them your latest income tax return.

  5. depends on what they accept as proof. maybe a letter from your employer?

  6. check stubs

  7. W2 or paycheck stub.  by the way you realize you dont have an income right now

  8. then tell the person in charge that you don't have a job at the moment and that you just moved there

  9. YOU CAN USE PAST PAYCHECK STUBS, OR YOU CAN GET A LETTER FROM YOU NEW JOB STATING THAT YOU ARE EMPLOYED, AND WHAT YOUR SALARY IS.

  10. Give them your W2's and most recent paystub for the job you used to work. Then give them the offer letter you received for the new job.

  11. Last year tax return and a letter from your future employer stating that you are going to start on certain date w/ your salary

and you may have to have a co signer or pay the first and last months rent up front

  12. Paystus, W-2's and tax returns only show previous income.  Your question is for future income.

Get a letter from your future employer stating what you will be making and when your start date is
