How can I get ready for crew?

I want to join crew in the winter. I'm a sophmore girl in high school and i'm wondering what I can do to get ready. I already run most days, so I have a decent amount of lower body strenght, but I barely have and lower body strength? How can I build endurance and strength? In addition, how much does a coxswain usually weigh? I'm 120 right now, but I'm going to try going down to 110.

  1. To row or cox ?

    To row, you want to also runs hills, or at least do chair step-ups.  With some dumbbells or something for a weight if you can manage it.

    Also work on bent over rows to build strength in your lats. Add squats twice a week, too.
