I have some seedlings in a small garden in my backyard, and there are ants ALL OVER! I want to get rid of them without killing the flowers. I heard that if you sprinkle Sweet and Low sugar around the nest, they love it and carry it into the nest and it is deadly. The person said it worked. But will the sugar kill the flowers? If it's deadly to ants it can't be that good for the flowers, can it?

  1. Sprinkle corn meal around your garden.  Buy it at the grocery store.  It's non-toxic and does not harm humans or animals.  It will get rid of the ants within 24 hours.

  2. With the exception of the hot water, all of the previous suggestions or  regular ant poison will work and won't hurt your flowers a bit.

  3. poor hot water in your flower bed

  4. get some outdoor ant traps at the local hardware store.  I know nothing about the sweet n low cure sorry

sprinkle a path of real suagr to the trap and then just throw them out

  5. Why do you want to kill the ants? Are they biting or bothering you?

Mix 1 cup of borax with 1/4 cup of sugar and sprinkle it around. The ants carry it back to the nest and it kills them. Borax and sugar are completely harmless to humans and to plants.
