How can I get rid of ants?

Is there a SAFE product to kill ants? I have little black ants, about 1/16 of an inch in size. I have washed the kitchen with bleach water, didn't help. They are NOT attracted to food. I can leave a dirty dish or a crumb on the counter and they don't go near it. They just seem to wander around my kitchen. I see no point of entry. They don't congregate. They don't travel in a line. They have no odor when squished, (someone suggested stink ants). I will not bomb the house because of pets. I will not risk their health.

I've had this problem other years (about the same time). But usually after a week or so they just vanished. This year they aren't vanishing and I seem to be getting more and more. HELP!!

  1. There is spray you can get for out side your house and yard that is safe to use with pets. You just spray around the base of your house and all over your yard any trees and that should help cut down on bugs and ticks. you can also buy ant traps they work well and they are cheep.

  2. you need to go outside and find the hole and put bait down so the y carry it to there hole. they do make a bait that comes in a tin so the dogs can't get to it. then they take it in and kill the colony

  3. They are probably the type that are looking for oil - cooking oils - might be faro ants which are common in Florida, US.  You should consult a pest control person as these are hard to get rid of without professional help.  Also, you didn't mention where you are located - that would help narrow the field some.

  4. I use the ant spray and it worked for me.
