My Daughter is 7 months old and for the last three months has had eczema on the back of her leg. At my last Doctor apt I showed the doctor and he said it would go away on it's own, it wasn't that bad then. Now it's gotten worse. I put diaper rash cream on it every night and in the morning it's almost gone but by the afternoon it's back again. Now it's the whole back of her knee. She doesn't seem to mind it..she doesn't itch it or seem in pain when I touch it but I looks bad. Are there any home remedies that could cure it or make it better that are safe for babies ?

  1. Well I have eczema and my Doctor told me NOT to use anything scented my doctor told me to use aveno unscented on my body aveno has alot of baby eczema prouducts like lotion and body soap go check it out in the baby department and dont use scented soap when you wash her clothes and dont use perfume on her or anything like that do some research on it on the computer.

  2. eczema will go  away on its own!!.. do not rty using creams or lotions that are not meant for a baby. their skin is sensitive and it could worsen the situation.

  3. Make sure that he has one soap.  Use the same kind of cream all the time (don't switch).  Make sure that his skin stays hydrated.  Since he is only 7months I am guessing that he doesn't get much sweets, but when he is older keep those to a minimum.  Don't smoke around him, keep your house clean and he should probably not have any pets.  Heat tends to make it worse as well.  Salt water does seem to help.  Make sure that you use hypoallergenic soap to wash his clothes

Also eczema in small child can be a sign that they may develop asthma later in childhood.

  4. hi!

I used a cream from the Bodyshop - bodybutter in Almond but I heard they were going to discontinue it! If they have, try the other nuts- Brazil is good too as is shea. Also hemp for eczema. I used this on myself, and then on my daughter on eczema Sooo bad I had to rub steroid cream on it daily and it would often bleed...about 1 week of almond bodybutter from the bodyshop and it cleared up- i often use brazilnut one and hemp on it too and it has similar effect too- basically these creams worked better than prescribed steroid creams! Good luck

  5. well people may have given you other suggestions but I think aveeno lotion try their lotion soap and their bat treatment it really works...

  6. Equal parts of olive oil, honey and beeswax.  Seems too simple but it will help.  For a baby, make sure you cover it with some gauze (it wouldn't be good for her to get it in her mouth at her age - honey isn't good for babies to eat but great for adults and other children).

If you doubt this, google any of the three ingredients and eczema and you'll find the research.

And whatever you do please don't use steroid creams on her.

    Hope this helps you!

  7. There's no real cure for eczema. The best you can hope for is that she'll eventually grow out of it. My son is 9 months old and he has it on the back of his legs, his wrists and on his shoulders. The doctor prescribed hydrocortisone cream. The over the counter stuff works good too, but the prescription stuff works a bit better. It does a really good job of clearing it up, but it will always come back. And you have to make sure you only use it when absolutely necessary. Any other time, keep your baby lotioned up. Eucerin is a great lotion. You doctor also should have told you that there are different "triggers" for it to flare up. Certain foods she eats. Certain detergents. Different weather temperatures. With my son, if it's really hot and humid, his eczema is at its worst.

  8. I know what you are going through. My 2 yr old still has it. I wash everyone's clothes, blankets, towels etc in ALL for Baby. Everything your baby touches (clothes wise) will rub and cause her to breakout. I would use Gentle Naturals ezcema cream. Try it. And when the cold weather comes it will worsen.   http://gentlenaturals.com       and you can find it at your local Walmart or pharmacy

  9. my son is the same...i think its an on going thing...in summer it will get worse; i use the natural range from GAIA or aromababy; and use sorbolene cream as well i find it works wonders... sometimes giving them too many baths can irritate it and once again i use the GAIA or aromababy range and let him lie n sunshine it helps as well..

    good luck
