  1. Have a fear factor (home edition) at your house!

    Centipede being the main dish;)

  2. Centipedes can be prevented from gaining entry into buildings by sealing and caulking gaps around siding, windows, doors, pipes, wires and other structural voids.

Removal of centipedes habitats including trash, rocks, boards, compost piles, and other hiding places around the structure would help reduce the population.

Residual liquid sprays like Bifen It or Talstar One Liquid Residual Insecticides  or   CYPER WP sprayed along cracks and crevices, entry points, and baseboards, would discourage centipedes activity.

However, Centipedes are in fact a very helpful creature in that they chase down and feed on other insects such as beetles, spiders, woodlice etc..

They also do not cause any damage or feed on any Human foodstuffs.

    Hope This helps

    Good Luck

PS: Unlike many silly myths, the Centipede is NOT dangerous, however their bite can in rare cases be similar to a sting from a bee.

In 99% of cases their bite cannot penetrate the skin.

Check for their eggs under baseboards and other damp areas

  3. House centipedes are almost the most common house  hold insect in the Eastern United States, even extermination sometimes won't kill them, but in most cases, they do. I say call an exterminator and have him spray all around your house, especially your basement, crawlspaces, closets, atticks, bathrooms, etc. You should also consider getting a de-humidifier that will reduce the humidity in your household at a rapid pace, this will draw them out of your house and somewhere else, after extermination, you may see a few, but 99 times out of 100 they will probably be dead, exterminate a couple times a year to make sure that they are gone and spray poison around your house that will make them sure not to mess with your house. That's what I do and I went from seeing them a couple of times a day to not seeing them for the past year or so.

  4. Are you sure that they are centipedes. They are dangerous, but millepedes are harmless. Leave alone they will go.

  5. bug sprayy

  6. They like moisture, try to reduce humidity in your home, also pick up anything like damp clothes, towels, or other things that might lure them to hang around.

You can also use sticky traps to catch them and caulking where they are getting in.  If they are coming up the drains them you might want to put little screens over them.

  7. Get a can of Raid. Look for the kind that will kill centipedes and spiders. Then spray it around the foundation of your house. Give it a good soaking. Do it every six months and you should be good. Also make sure that your house is not damp. They like damp basements.
