How can I get rid of indoor gnats safely (I do not have any plants) while I have a indoor dog?

You may have drain flies. They look like tiny gnats. Use a drain cleaner in every drain in your house. Then pour Clorox bleach every other day into each sink, tub, etc.

Have you had a problem with sewage backing up in your drains? Drain flies lay their eggs in the ickiness of drains. You need to remove the goop in order to kill the eggs thus eliminating your gnat problem.

Clean the house.  Pizza boxes, fruit peels and other such attract them.  Change your trash bags at least every other day.  Wash the trash containers.

Most likely the gnats are after fruit products. Get rid of those or put them in an airtight container.
