How can I get rid of poison ivy?

My boyfriend and I went biking on wednesday and unknowingly biked through poison ivy. We both showered after an hour of getting home but I started to get it on thursday night and now saturday it's still appearing! What can I possibly do to get rid of it fast and stop it from spreading because it seems to be.

I have that hydrocortisone cream but I heard lemon juice helps too?

It may hurt a whole lot at first but a very effective way of getting rid of poison ivy is to you a bleach or bleach water mix applied via sponge or cloth directly on the effected area.

hyrocortisone is good; also calomine, and, a baking soda paste mixed with water is soothing.

Okay, so I had poison ivy on my face! It was horrible! I had a school field trip to Mexico within a week. I went to the doctor and she gave me prednisone they are pills that can only be subscribed. My poison ivy went away within three days. Now a more sophisticated [sp?] way is: Apply soothing lotions such as calamine directly to the poison ivy rash. After applying the cool compress to your poison ivy rash, spread calamine or a similar lotion over the affected area. These lotions work to relieve your itching and dry up the blisters and oily bumps of your rash. Be sure to check the use by date on your lotion bottle; calamine lotion does expire, and won't be able to soothe your rash after its expiration. Aveeno Anti-Itch Cream with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal, Band-Aid Anti-Itch Gel, and Aloe Vera Gel are other viable options for gentle topical creams to relieve your itching. I really hope this helps!

dont scratch it use calmine lotion it will go away in  about 2 weeks.. oce u get it comes back for 7 yrs  and u dont have to be in the woods just around it

You need to dry it up so that it does not spread. Calamine (sp?) lotion is good for that.
