I have had a car parked under a lime tree for 2 years and it is now covered in a hard shellac type deposit from the dripping lime , it appears to be baked on hard and it chips off in small quantities with my finger nail . I have tried all kinds of petroleum products to remove it ,I have also used various kitchen cleaning products , including oven cleaner . I have tried acids and T-cut ,all to no avail . Is there a bright chemist who knows the formula to dissolve this deposit?

  1. Simple bug and tar remover will do the trick. You can get it almost everywhere, even Wal Mart and is easy to use and will not damage the paint. Good Luck!

  2. Have you tried Auto Glym Polish?? It is quite searching so go easy on it. We use it to remove baked on tree sap, it hard work but worth it. You can get it ftom Halfords.
