It doesn't seem to bother them. They are all over the grapes and stuff. The fruit is not rotten.

  1. refrigerate the fruits or cover them

  2. Get rid of all the Fruit and clean thoroughly, and keep spraying stuff at them.

I got an infestation of the little buggers when I left a  dirty glass (with just the residue of fruit juice in it ) on the counter when I left town for a few days.

I don't know how they do it,, but they can thrive and reproduce off of next to nothing, and the little b*st*rds linger for days after you get rid of their food supply.

  3. At my house we had an ant problem. so we used vegetable spray that wont harm anything except the bugs. its super safe and all you have to do is spray. now we have not ants and it is also good because it won't hert your fruits as long as you wash them before you eat them. i have lots of pets so i dont want anything that will bother them so we use vegetable spary for killing bugs and just giving a nice smell to the house...well the kitchen. =)

  4. put out a glass of cider vinegar, it will attract the fruitflies to the cup.

  5. Step1

Clean your soda and beer cans with soap and water or put them in a sealed bag. Fruit flies love beer and soda, so doing this can really help.

    Step2

Make a fruit fly flytrap by putting a small amount of red wine in a shallow dish, cover it with a plastic wrap, stretching and holding it with a rubber band. Pierce some holes on the cover. Attracted to wine, flies will crawl in and would not be able to escape. You can also use banana or apple cider vinegar as a substitute to wine.

    Step3

Combine 1 pint milk, 1/4 lb raw sugar and 2 ounces ground pepper in a saucepan and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Pour it in a shallow dish and watch the flies attack and consequently suffocate.

    Step4

Pour 1/4 cup white vinegar and a pinch of liquid dishwashing detergent in a cup. Slowly, add water till the bubbles reach the top of the cup. Fruit flies will be attracted and trapped to death.

    Step5

Spray the house with diluted lemon grass oil. Just 10 drops of oil works well with 2 ounces of hot water. This can kill not only fruit flies but also spiders, ants and other creepy crawlers.

    Step6

Hang fly strips with both their sides exposed to flies. Fruit flies will stick to the fly trap and perish.

  6. Pour Bleach down the kitchen sink and close it off. The flies are hatching in the pipes, this will kill them, do this for about 24 hours if that isn't enough time do it another 24. Good luck!
