How can I get rid of these Black Eyed Susans?

We moved here about a year ago and the previous owners planted a ghastly amount of "plants" in the front flower beds. I have a number of black eyed susans out there and I'm not big on the wild flower look in front of my house. I dug them up this past winter thinking I got rid of them, but now they've come back with a vengeance!

How can I get rid of these monsters?

  1. The problem with digging them up in the winter is they have already reseeded them selves so even though you got a lot of the plant the seeds are still in the ground.  Spray them all with round up before they go to seed.

  2. maybe dig deeper in the late summer and give or sell them.  they are a favorite to many in the mid-west.
