I sent a certified cancellation to LA Fitness for gym/trainer services. I was told after 30 days money would stop coming out of my bank acct. I was told that now after 2 more months of money deducted that I have to get a Doctors letter for reason of my cancellation. Is this true? Do I actually need a letter? Can't I cancel due to just cause, verbally? There are 4 gyms within a 25 mile radius of my location. Is it true you can cancel if you have moved more than 25 miles away from a LA Fitness center? My gym was finally cancelled ,but in order to cancel my trainer, who I never did have due to personal circumstance, I now need a Doctors letter staing a medical reason for a reason of my cancellation. Is this TRUE? What are my options? I told the billing person: why can't the trainer be cancelled as I did not need medical report to join so why now that the gym is cancelled would I need a trainer and why do I need a medical release from a Doctor. She stated it is in the contract. I ws never given the final contract that specifies this part.
