Question:

How can I get rid of wild grapevine?

We have a ton of wild grapevine in our yard. We pull it on a semi regular basis but it always seems to come back worse. At this point it is pretty much taking over our wild black raspberry patch, and I'd really like to keep that. Any suggestions?

  1. Pull up any new growth you find and trace it back to the root. Usually there is a parent plant that serves as home base for the starts that go in all directions. Dig the parent plant and make certain to capture the entire root system. Getting the main plant out is key to getting rid of the plant altogether. Once the plant is no longer a nuisance, be vigilant about inspecting for new starts and getting them early every year.
