How can I get scratches out of my eye glasses?

I have a pair of glasses that were in decent condition for a long time until I cleaned them with my t-shirt one day and something scratched the surface very bad. It's right in the center of the glass so it really effects my viewing. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Sorry...once an optical lens is scratched...it has to be replaced.

Nothing has been invented to repair it that can work.

Sorry, but there is really no effective way of removing scratches from a lens without destoying the optics of the lens.  The only solution is to replace the lenses.  Don't waste your money on those things you see on tv where you just rub something on the lenses and presto the scratches disappear.  THEY DON"T WORK!!!!!!!
