If I join the Army and go to MEPS, pick a job and get sworn in; how can I prevent them from screwin me out of it?

I have no GED and scored a 54 on the ASVAB, so I think I'm eligible to get screwed. What can I do to prevent that and what are the chances of them trying?

  1. If it's on your contract when you sign it, and you pass the job school you'll get the job.

just MAKE SURE THE CONTRACT YOU SIGN IS THE CONTRACT YOU WANT and refuse to sign it until every question you have is cleared up.

signing that contract is far more important than any swearing in process ever.

  2. You don't even have a GED and you're worried about getting screwed by the Army?

You've already been screwed by the system, dude.

    Or, you've already screwed yourself.

You should be glad that the recruiter is even entertaining you.

Your best bet is to go to Adult School and get a Diploma, talk to your recruiter about what school in your area is best for you.  If you can't go to school, get your GED.  You should have no problem passing it with a 54 on the ASVAB, it only costs about $100, and it will allow you to pick your job and ship out quicker.  That way you won't be taking up as much of your recruiter's valuable time.

  3. You cant get in without a High School deploma or a GED.  You dont have to worry about how the Army will s***w you.  By the way...nice attitude...just the type of person our nations military needs.

  4. Ask for Ged Prep training   fail the course and they will let you out .. they can s***w you a thousand different ways.

  5. Positive Attitude much?

It's the Army, they can "s***w you" in a thousand different ways. It all depends on what you call getting "Screwed over".

You cannot enlist without a H.S Diploma or GED. The Army National Guard will actually send you to get your GED before you go to basic. Go through them and ask about their "Active First" program. What that is, you will  sign with the Army N.G, do a few drills, go off to basic and ait, then you will be an active army soldier for 30,40, or 60 months. Once that time has expired you can choose to stay actice or return to the Army National Guard and potentially receive up to $20,000 in a return bonus.

To me this would be your best bet, as you would be able to get your GED, then become Active Army, and do what you wanted to do all along.

As far as the comment getting a GED on your own will cost $100, is bs. I got mine for $7.00 in NC. Friends of mine in VA got theirs for around $20. It varies state to state.

I wanted to go to College rather than deal with H.S Drama bs thats why I got my GED at 16 and went straight to college.

    Good luck

  6. .No GED? Do you have a HS diploma?

If not, you have screwed yourself.
