I live in Atlanta and have no acting background. But if VH1's New York can try, why can't I?

  1. Hmm.... firstly i'd chose a different role model than "New York"

Next, though, get involved in the drama program at your school (assuming you're still a student.) Also start auditioning for whatever community productions you can. I don't know much about the Atlanta theatre scene but there has to be opportunities. Use that time to build up your resume and to make contacts.

Then if your goal is to pursue film then talk to other actors in your area and see if any of them have an agent. You can get a resume and headshot together and see about setting up an appt with a local agency. From there, they would line up auditions for you.

    Best of luck!

    -plays

    -drama classes

then probabaly get some personal training

    then get a agent

then go audition but first do research

  4. Get some experiance, get involved in a small play and take a few classes.  You will need to meet as many people as you can and make friends with them becuase get a job that that is about who you know.  You have to have patients it is tough.

  6. if ur in middle skool or high skool u can try out 4 drama club and every1 makes the team but it's on 4 1 play. same with drama troup except not every1 makes it and u feel like u suck @ it.

  7. I don't understand the question, but if you want to act, the question I would ask you is do you know how to act? Have you had any training yet? If not, that would be the first step unless you just want to see if you can take a shot to become famous like so many others do. That's not a long-term winning strategy though.

You have to realize that even if you get a part on a show, program, in a play or something that you are not guaranteed to keep the job, nor are you guaranteed that the job will last for a long time. Once it's over, you will be back to square one looking for another job. If you haven't done your homework and study the craft, you will find it to be very difficult to have an acting career.

If you answer the question more clearly, I would be happy to take a stab at answering it.

    Good luck!

  8. Acting does not happen overnight nor becoming an actress.  The key point is to be an artist. Just pursue it, perform, perform, perform, in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... You also have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, besides study). practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Welcome! Best of luck

  9. If your inspiration is a chick called New York from a trashy reality TV show then you might as well forget about being a REAL actress.
