  1. I would suggest finding a local group that you can join. Very carefully observe their procedures for what they do right and what they could do better. The link below should be of some help.

I would suggest the two very basic books I listed below to help you get started.

You also should decide early on what you are going to investigate: only hauntings, or UFOs and hauntings, are you going to try to replicate ESP experiments, etc.

Then examine your own skill and find out what approach would be best for you.

Are you good at photography or other types of equipment?

Are you good at interviewing people?

Are you good at historical records research? etc. etc.

Please feel free to contact me if you need or want additional assistance on this matter.

  2. Right here, right now.  Now all you need is someone who claims to have a haunting that will allow you to poke around.

  3. Join a group (online if need be ), learn the good points, advertise for members on your own website and off you go!

Seems to be the way others do it.

  4. I have to echo what other's said.  I'd at least join another group for a year or two first.  It will help give you a foundation to build upon.  If there are no groups in your area, or if they're not accepting members- then I'd do a lot of research before actually starting up.

To get other members- I'd advertise in local papers, craigslist, and attend similar field related events in your area.  Of course get a website going too.

    Good luck!

  5. The best way to start your own research team is to first of course find other people around your area with the same interest and beliefs of the paranormal, then you are gonna want to get just a few simple basic items for research, digital cameras, or 35mm cameras work too, a voice recorder, and just take pictures and record audio to get a feel for the equipment and slowly purchase night vision cameras, electro magnetic field detectors and thermometers, but the best thing i have found for an investigation is to just go in and sit down and let your ears do the work.
