  1. The line without any sag would have to be tensioned with infinite force. That comes from the basic laws of physics.

If you have your clothesline between two pulleys then you can use a device with two rollers to prevent both line from separating to much and as result greatly reducing the sag.

  2. You need some form of tensioning turnbuckle, or maybe take the line over a pulley an add a heavy weight which will keep the cable under tension.

  3. Try putting a prop in the middle of the line. Cheap and easy cure.

  4. Yopu need to get a threaded eyelet that will go completely through the post the line is on..put washers and nuts on each side of the eyelet bolt ..you can then use a wrench to tighten the nuts in which will tighten the line...You can buy these pieces of hardware as well...you can get them for a couple dollars at home depot...

Heres the eyelet bolts i was talking about..

  5. First, the supports on each end of the wire must be immovable.  All metal will stretch some.  That includes your clothesline wire.  The most reliable tensioning device would be a turnbuckle on one end of each wire.  Google it or ask at your local hardware store if you don't know what it is.

  6. Hi,

Before I tied the string I passed it thru a strip with three holes . forming a zig-zag stitch.  When we load wet cloth on string then I adjust string bu pulling string thrugh hole and adjust the tension.

  7. There's no such thing as a horizontal wire that doesn't sag. Engineers typical design cable installations to have a 3% sag. If you try to eliminate the sag past this point then the cable will have to be dangerously over tensioned and will break at far less than its rated load.

Anyway the device you want is called a turn buckle. Its basically two eye bolts that s***w into a central metal bit. One end has a right hand thread and the other end a left hand thread so you can turn the central bit you bring the eye bolts closer together, tensioning the cable.
