The people in housing say that all you have to do is plug the TV in and you get cable channels but all I got was static fuzz. I have a 13" Magnavox TV/DVD combo. I also see that there's a place to plug something in the back of the TV and on the wall that looks the same. It says "amt" or something on the back of the TV. Is there cable I'm suppoused to buy to get it to work? Or should I just buy a new tv (any recommends?")

  1. yes, you need to buy a cable and connect it at the back of your tv as well as in the wall.

  2. All you need is a coaxial cable. Just connect it from the wall jack, to your TV's ANT port, to be able to watch TV.

  3. You need a standard TV coax cable that goes between your TV's antenna jack ("ANT" no "AMT") and the cable outlet on the wall.

Any place that sells TVs should carry these.

If the TV was used with an antenna before, you will need to go into the TV's menu and select "cable" as your signal source. If the TV is more than 20 years old or so there may be a physical switch to change from "over the air" to cable signals.
