I need to leave on a Fri night or Sat morning, and return on a Sunday. I'd like to take 2 weeks off of work, meaning the whole trip would be about 16 days. I can go anytime from mid Feb to mid Apr, though March is ideal. I need two tickets. Thank you!

  1. Usually, Northwest is the cheapest.

  2. I did get a deal last January to February for $890 via Northwest Airlines but that was booked through a travel agency.. That is your best bet in getting a ticket, contact a travel agency specializing on trips to the Philippines.. Online prices are better sometimes but travel agencies are mostly better most of the time.. Of course, the cheaper it is, the more uncomfortable the airlines is.. I like United Airlines.. I went to the Philippines last month for just a few days and I paid $1900.. The trip was great though so I think that I got my money's worth..

  3. With the way prices are right now, I'd say that fare you found is already quite cheap. However, you can try comparing fares for your destinations and duration of stay at the usual ticket sites online line kayak, orbitz, cheap tickets, etc. I'd found that kayak offers the cheapest (thus far) among these sites. But I've also heard from people who've recently gone home and those planning to go home sometime January next year, directly booking Cathay gives cheaper rates as well. So do your homework and search around to compare prices. You still have time to do so.

The peak times for going to the Philippines starts around April all the way to around August or September, December is also a peak season. So to get cheaper rates, you obviously would want to avoid going home during these months. If you ask me, January or February are better months to go home because the weather during those months won't be as hot as the other months aside from December. March is actually the start of the hot months, especially around the time when Holy Week comes around.
