How can I get the door open?

I have a 1999 Pontiac Montana van and the back door won't open the latch isn't working. A couple months ago It wouldn't latch shut now the thing won't open any Idea on how to get it open?

yes try removing the cover to the door from inside exposing the hole remove the plastic sheet you should see the latch an with a s***w driver or pliers pull the cable that opens it its fairly easy but remove the plastic cover to get access there probably some tabs u need to pop if u brake them its ok they sell them on auto parts fairly cheap like 4 bucks an assortment pack

How about throw that POS off a cliff!! GM and American cars are junk! I drive a TOYOTA and have never had any problems!Why  can't we buold a decent car? We could,just our stupid CEOS of these American companies are too greedy and want us to keep buying new cars.No wonder the rest of the world hates us!
