I have a flat tire on my 1999 New Beetle. I have the car jacked up but I can't figure out how to get the hubcap off. It seems to be part of the tire. I purchased the car new 9 1/2 year ago. I don't have the owners manual, it is at home. How can I safely remove this tire?

  1. Well most car jack kits have like a wedge or leverage tip looking like a big flat head s***w driver.  Use it to wedge out the hubcap.  When thats done wedged off, loosen the nuts then jack it up.  Take the nuts off and remove the flat tire and replace it with the donut or other tire.

  2. call towing people

  3. get someone else to do it for you before you hurt yourself trying it alone.

Just as an aside for your information,,,get a membership with AAA  Motor Club. Its nation wide ,,its cheap,,it provides a lot of free services--including changing a flat tire,,they come to you wherever you are and change it. Just a phone call away.

  4. First with the car on the ground...loosen the lugnut, then carefully, on solid ground jack the car up. Then remove the the lugnuts. the hubcaps should come off along with the tire.

    Good luck!
