How can I get the government card for food given to families of low resources?

I have a friend that has two kids and is going through a very bad economic situation. She wants to know how to get the card that the government grants to buy food.

Food stamps? Simple. Ask her to go down to her County Assistance Office and fill out and application for Food Stamps, Cash Assistance, and Medicaid. She most likely will qualify for atleast two. She needs proof of income and expenses to prove she qualifies. If she can't get to her assistance office, she can fill out a form online. I'm not sure of the site for your state. Go to the Welfare office. They have the forms to fill out there. She might be able to get health care coverage for her children there too.

Don't you think that all of us are going through a very bad economic situation right now? With Gas prices the way they are and food going up.  

The working middle class need help also. but we aren't going to the government looking for a hand out, we are busting our butts to make ends meet.... Some are working 2 jobs just to keep it going.  

Ok, let me have it... give me the thumbs down.  But you have to admit alot of people feel this way....

First she needs to get a job and stop living off of the working class.

Second, if she was smart she would know where to go,  Social Services of the county she lives....

Tell your friend to get a job no matter what it is....

I am sure that I am not the only one that is getting tired of working to feed others that don't want to work.

Apply to the Department of Human Services ---it is a government agency that usually has county offices.
