My School doesn't disperse my loan money until the first week or after the first week of school. I have all these supplies, equipment, and books I need and can't afford them out of pocket.

From what Instructors and the dean have all told me is that I will definitely need those things the first week.

Now because I am only an undergrad and its my first year so im not considered a student there yet the Schools Financial Aid said they cant help me, with an emergency loan. Basically I was told that I was on my own. Anyone know how I can get the money for them in the next two weeks.

  1. Dude you screwed up, you check out the books from the library man... don't buy em!

  2. If your school has a voucher system

you should be able to get all the supplies you need in the bookstore.

  3. Do they give a book voucher at your school until your money is dispensed.

or maybe a parent could help.

  4. Ask your mom and dad.

  5. As much as I hate to say this, if worst comes to worst, get a credit card and put it on your credit card until you get money for student loans or a job and pay it back right away. But that should only be as an absolute last resort, credit cards can be a very fast way to get yourself into a lot of trouble. See if you can borrow from friends or family first, or maybe you know someone who has old school supplies that are still in good condition that they'd be willing to just give you. Good luck!

  6. Try the Moose club,Lions Club or Salvation Army or your Synagogue or Church. If your parents were veterans try the V.F.W.(Veterans of Foreign Wars) Never be afraid to ask the worse is a no and then ask someone else.Look in the phone book for local numbers.Sometimes they have funds set up for these purposes. The Lions Club and Moose also has scholarships. These groups are wonderful and should be supported, when you become rich and famous don't forget them.Hope this helped.

  7. get a job.

  8. Try to get a job quickly. Make some money! If that doesn't work, you're facing putting those school supplies on credit cards. A better idea would be to borrow a lower amount private student loan ranging from $1,000 to $40,000. Private student loans traditionally have much lower interest rates than credit cards. Obviously in your case you would be seeking the lower amount. The quickest way to get the funds is to apply for a private student loan online with a respected company. Compare student loan lenders first.
