Question:

How can I get the smell of dog pee out of a carpet?

My dog peed on the carpet right next to my bed a week ago and the smell still keeps me up at night. I've already tried soaking my whole room in Febreze but it didn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. There is no better product for consumers than urine off

Urine off will work great for both urine and f***s. Urine Off is the only consumer product that works very well. Natures miracle and many others do not contain enough enzymes/bacteria. The consumer product is the same blend of enzyme/bacteria as a Professional would buy.

We have treated hundreds of homes with very high success using this product. http://www.urineoff.com

  2. Steam clean it.  The urine may have also stained the floor underneath.  If you care about the floor underneath, I would pull up the carpet. Muraitic acid may remove the stain from the floor if it is wood....

  3. Unfortunately pet stains are the hardest to get out.

    Sometimes impossible.

The urine will seep down inside the Carpet into the pad & sometimes even the floor.

You should get it professionally cleaned.

You have to pull back the carpet, cut out the affected pad, clean the floor with bleach.

Take a sample of pad to Home Depot to match

Replace the pad & you could try to clean the carpet yourself but I would get a pro.

    Good luck

  4. there are lots of ways to get rid of the oder. here are a few that have worked for me :

1- scrub the area with nail polish remover and wait until it dries. then sprinkle on some carpet powder that you use to deoderize your carpet when vacuming.

2- if you have a stain remover type of thing, use that on the stain, then spray it with febreeze or any other kind of carpet scenting sprays.

3- there is a vacuum that is deep cleaning made especially for carpet. if you have that, fill the water tank in the vacuum with a mix of water, febreeze, a couple drops of your favorite body splash, and a tablespoon of carpet powder.

4- this way involves some money if you are willing to pay for it. just hire carpet cleaners. that is the easiest way, all you need to do is tell them your problem, where it is and what it is.

  5. Vinegar soak it and shampoo it , might take a couple of times to break down the proteins and Oder's in the urine

  6. 1:wash it in the washing machine or #2:put it outside! or #3:wash the spot with unscented stuff or #4: sell it and get another [dont tell them that it has pee on it]!!

  7. Speed is of the essence. Use paper towels or rags to soak up as much of the urine as you can. Then apply a commercial dog stain neutralizer. You can find them at any pet store. These products contain enzymes that break down the urine, neutralizing it without staining the carpet. They also work on furniture.

  8. you have to really clean it thoroughly.  try this process, repeat as needed and flush it out thoroughly with water inbetween and after treatments.  You're going to want to absorb all excess water after you're done, and place a fan on the affected area:
