Question:

How can I get the smell out of my carpet?

My boyfriend shampooed my carpet for me, but the shampooer broke as he was doing it and stopped sucking up the water, leaving my carpet soaked. He went home after he was finished so I just opened the windows and turned on the fan to dry the carpet. The next morning i walked into the room and it smelled TERRIBLE. I left the windows open, I did not have time to clean it up that day. This morning when I woke up I could smell it through that hallway and it was worse in the room. It is still a little damp, and I'm going to try to shampoo it again and suck up the water with a shopvac and add some Febreze to the shampoo. So far, it doesn't seem to be working. The carpet also smells like cat pee. Any advice?

  1. put vodka in a sprayer and spray vodka all over your carpet. I know it sounds weird but vodka has a low odor content and is mostly alcohol so it kills bacteria without leaving your carpet smelling like it just spent 9872349569 (random) hours in  a bar. Please just try it i know it works.

or you could just go and buy carpet cleaner that your shake on your carpet then go back and vacuum later if you want to be simple

    Good Luck :-)

  2. Rent another carpet cleaner and redo the job. That's the only way to get the smell out.

  3. I've heard that hydrogen peroxide also works
